I am a new ATT Uverse customer after years with Charter. The color LCD screen is nice, but really no better than the monochrome screens of earlier models in function. Don't know why the 880 should work better than 659 and 520, but it does.As to the remote itself, the hard buttons are very nice.
Much to my dismay, these two remotes work less well with ATT Uverse's Cisco set-top boxes. Volume and channel control could be better shaped. I have long used Logitech Harmony 659 and 520 remotes with Charter equipment with total satisfaction.
The lay-out is OK, but some buttons are a bit crowded. Specifically, trying to enter channels directly is an exercise in frustration (skipped numbers are very common) and often presses of command keys go ignored. This is with both 659 and 520 remotes.On a whim, I picked up an 880 and I find that the ATT UVerse Cisco booxes respond crisply and reliably to the 880.
The back-lighting on the keys is less than adequate in a dark room. The rechargability is very nice, but you get to buy a $12 battery when it dies.The shape is just like the classic 659 and it fits nicely in the hand.Like all harmony remotes, the programming is the best there is of any remote.Excellent remote, overall, downgraded from 5 stars because of poor back-lighting and some crowded buttons.
Best universal remote I have ever owned. Easy set up. I would recomend it for anyone. Mac user friendly.
The most disappointing part is that when I Emailed Logitech and Amazon with receipts/order #'s etc and asked them how to fix the issue or if it was a defect and received no response from either. I rebooted the remote to factory settings and reloaded my button setup from this logitech wizard.
Have bought logitech products in the past and been very happy with them. Bought this remote expecting great things.
However 3 months in the 5 button stopped working. This remote was no different for the first 3 months.
Worked great, fairly easy web based setup great form factor and looks good. Worked for a couple weeks then stopped again.
I couldn't be more disappointed in the lack of support from both sides on what could have been a great product.
I couldn't ask for more. I've been waiting for this remote for over a year and finally got around to ordering one. This is the perfect remote for my media setup. I have a friend that has one and now I have my own. I love it.
I bought this for my daughter and son-in-law for Christmas. The were very happy to get the Logitech 880 Universal Control because they had 4 or 5 controls sitting on the coffee table at any given time to operate everything. They said it is working great and would recommend this product to everyone.
